Race Day
Where should participants park on the day of the event?
There are two parking lots available, the parking lot by the pool and the overflow lot adjacent to the start of the race and both fill up quickly. No park permits are required to park in the lots the day of the race. When parking lots are full, additional parking is available on Heather Lane and Alpine Road. Be sure not to park on the race course.
What time should I get there?
Arrive at least an hour early, even more if you can. The parking lots fill up quickly and it takes time to register or even just to check-in and get your number.
What refreshments will be offered at the end of the race?
Post race refreshments and food such as coffee, bagels, donuts, pastry, yogurt, and fresh fruit will be offered.

Is there food available on the course?
No. There will be a water station just before the 2 mile mark on the course. Additional food and beverages will be provided after the race.
Can I run with an iPod/headphones?
Yes. USATF, the national governing body of the sport, recently amended its ban on headphones, iPods and similar devices. However, athletes competing for prize money are not allowed to use electronic devices such as headphones and ear pieces.
What is NOT allowed on the course?
Baby joggers and dogs are not allowed.

When is the 2013 Sprint for Monroe and when will registration open?
The 2013 Sprint for Monroe will be held Sunday, June 2, 2013. Race registration is currently open.
Is there a registration capacity for the Sprint for Monroe?
No
Do I need a qualifying time to enter the Sprint for Monroe?
No
How do I register?
Pre-registration for the event can be completed either online or by mail. Registration forms are available at local businesses, the Monroe Town Hall, the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library, and The Chiropractic Center of Monroe. Most people download the form from HITEK or obtain the flyer at one of the other local races. Additional details, photos and registration forms are available on this website or online at www.hitekracing.com. Those who become a fan of the “Sprint for Monroe” Facebook page by May 5, 2013, will be entered into a random drawing to award free registration to the event to three runners/walkers.

Team Registration: $15 per person (10 runner minimum)
Is team registration allowed?
Yes. If you would like to register as a team for a discounted rate of $15.00 per runner/walker, please send in all forms together. Teams must consist of 10 or more people. Runners and walkers can be part of the same team. In the past, teams have usually worn the same t-shirts such as soccer shirts or shirts displaying company logos. There are, however, no team awards.
Can I register the day of the event?
Yes. On-site registration starts at 7:30am on the day of the race on June 2nd. There are two lines- one for those that pre-registered who are checking-in for a number, and one for those who are registering on site. Registration for the Race4Chase Kids Fun Run is open until 8am and for the Walk/Run until 8:45am.
Is the Sprint for Monroe walker-friendly?
Yes!
How many people need to be part of a team?
Teams must consist of "10 or more" people.
What are the benefits of registering as a team?
The benefits are that it’s more cost effective to register as part of a team, only $15.00 a runner/walker. Walkers/Runners can be part of the same team. In the past, teams have worn the same t-shirts such as soccer shirts or business shirts (i.e. team from Walgreens last year).
